On May 25, 2021, Play’n GO was proud to announce to the world that it had obtained a brand-new Greek operator license. As a result, Greek players will now enjoy popular titles like the 3 Clown Monty, Scroll of Dead, European Roulette Pro, and so much more.

Play’n GO Goes Greek After Securing Operator License

Remember, the country started issuing out gambling licenses to eligible online mobile casino operators and suppliers recently after far-reaching gambling law amendments. The recent legislation is to help the gaming industry in the country grow even further.

Compliance with the Latest Amendments

After receiving the new license from Hellenic Gaming Commission, Play’n GO’s Head of Sales and Account Management, Magnus Olsson, said gambling regulatory changes are happening globally. Therefore, the company welcomes the latest framework in Greece and is looking forward to fully complying with the new laws.

Olsson further explained that the developer is proud of its games and would love to bring more to the table. He stated that thanks to Play’n Go’s compliance with gaming laws and first-class game development prowess, their partners can expect entertaining content across multiple markets.

New Greek Gambling Regulations

The mobile casino supplier needed to get a new license in Greece after the country passed brand-new gambling laws. In October last year, the Hellenic Gaming Commission opened the application procedure for rights to conduct online betting and other games of chance in the country.

The new law states that separate licenses are issued for sports betting and mobile casino operations. For the former, operators will have to pay €3 million to obtain the rights. On the other hand, any mobile casino wishing to operate in Greece will have to part with a €2 million licensing fee. Either way, the license will be renewable every seven years.

Also, the new rules state that Play’n GO slot fans will place a maximum bet of €2 per spin. As if that’s not enough, winnings are capped at €5,000, with a €50,000 limit when playing any jackpot game. These mobile gambling law reforms are part of the broader scheme called ‘Invest in Greece.’ The idea is to streamline legislation in the country to provide a conducive business environment.

Forays Into Other Regulated Markets

Play’n GO is certainly not new to venturing into new gambling markets. In March 2021, the company announced that it had secured a license from LOTBA to supply its entertaining online casino games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Interestingly, Play’n GO is one of the very first developers to be approved in this brand-new exciting gambling market. As such, the more than 17 million people living in the city and its provinces will access the company’s game library.

According to Play’n GO’s Head of Sales in Latin America, Cristian Acuna, the Argentina gambling market is experiencing positive regulation currently, making it a target for many operators. Thus, Play’n GO is banking on its Latin American experience to maintain a leading position in the newly regulated Argentina market.

A few months back, in July last year, Play’n GO, in its typical fashion, announced plans to enter the regulated Switzerland market. This development meant that the company now has a foothold in most EU countries, like Sweden, Portugal, Croatia, Lithuania, and more.

About Play’n GO

Launched in 1997, Play’n GO is an established brand in the iGaming industry. The company has its base in Vaxjo, Sweden, and employs more than 200 people. Currently, Play’n GO supplies more than 200 innovative video slots and a wide selection of table and bingo games.

When I started writing for CasinoRank I was a bit nervous, the gambling industry was new to me, and having no previous experience made me a bit jittery. Despite my nervousity I was keen to learn everything there is to know about iGaming. I have learned about professional-strategies and I always keep up to date with industry-news. I've also been captured by Blackjack and its simplicity, the rules of the game are simple and each round is quick - now I am a regular Blackjack player and try to incorporate my best blackjack-tips for my readers.
