Surprisingly, there's only one licensed casino in the Netherlands – The Holland Casino. It's a state-owned casino with 14 locations and has been the government's cash cow for many years. Even so, there are plans to liquidate it as a section of legislators think the government should not be offering gambling services.
The other section thinks privatizing the Holland Casino is a waste of time and resources. They are even worried that finding a "reliable" buyer for the casino will be a daunting task. It seems this decision will take legislators several years to make, just like what happened with online casino legalization.
